I have been a member of the Sexual Violence Prevention Task Force (SVPTF) for around two years now. On the SVPTF, we consist of faculty, staff and students from across campus to collaborate on policy and different programming to help make the Hamline Community safer. Through my position on the SVPTF, I have helped to get resources put up in the bathrooms, a poster campaign about consent and the possibility of creating a Sexual and Domestic Violence Response and Prevention Center built on our campus to help manage cases and establish advocacy to better support victim/survivors. Being on the SVPTF has been such a great opportunity for me to learn and grow a lot with understanding the importance of collaborative work, having each perspective recognized within a community and working on institutional change to create social change. I was honored to be on the SVPTF when we received the MN Campus Compact Award for Presidents' Civic Engagement Steward Award.
